Oh, I just have to share this one more thing.

 

Yesterday I decided to get rid of the crutch of my “driver” and take a taxi home. I called Sam to let him know; but lo and behold he was in the area and told me that he and the driver would collect me. I was to find someone to explain to the driver where I would be. The person I found told the driver that I would be at the Legon police station. As I walked away from campus I encountered a lady and asked her to tell me where the Legon police station was. She told me to come along with her, she would show me.

I tagged along, making casual conversation and discovered she was the “secretariat” in the Agricultural Department. She said good-bye and I waited, looking for the car. A few minutes passed and Alex, the driver, came up and said: “Madam, I am here. Let me assist you to the car.” Did I feel special or what?” I felt like the queen of England, or Michelle Obama!! LOL

I went by her office today and she greeted me with a hug and called me her friend! I again felt so special.

Lesson learned: Be kind, respectful. You never know who your People Angels are.

In conversation with Alex, he was so impressed with us and the fact we retired from Delta. He said the one day he wants to fly!! I shared the video of Delta 134 Atlanta to Ghana with him. I hope that one day we will be able to help fulfill that dream for him.
