Hello everyone,
We are off today to Cape Coast Castle. I am ssooo ready for this trip!! Here is a website for some information: http://ghana-net.com/CapeCoastCastle_Ghana_VIDEOS.aspx
One of the Africans they are talking about was interned at Seville Great House in St Anns Bay, Jamaica. Sam and I toured the the great house and somewhere I have pictures of the actual gravesite. I have searched for it and at the moment can't find them. I put in a call to a close friend to see if she can locate them for me. This adds to the significance of the visit, along with the slave tag.
We will also visit the Karum National Park. I hope to have the courage to take the canopy walk tour so I can get some awesome pictures for you all. Please pray for me. LOL Here is a link to the video about it: http://ghana-net.com/kakumnationalpark.aspx. Even the Prime Minister had a challenge to walk it. I doubt that Sam will. He doesn't go out on hotel balconies. LOL
We took the tro-tro orientation yesterday. It was quite interesting and not so bad, just hot and it took a long time with all the stops. I bought a dozen crabs at Madina and had several for dinner last night. They were sssooo good. LOL
I also bought white fish at the supermarket (expensive: $13.50 for four fillets) and I fried them for dinner along with mashed potatoes, and a blend of okra, tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, and garlic. This is one of Sam's favorite dishes. Me, not so much. I don't care for the okra. :-)
So you will hear from us next from Cape Coast, probably in tears; but you will hear from me.
Stay safe. One love.
