Hi everyone,
Sam and I went to the wedding. It was very nice, though most of what was said was in Twi, the most popular Ghanaian language. I did video it and will eventually put it on the blog; but the total time is about one hour forty-five minutes, so it will take a long time to upload and a long time for you to view them. I will go through them and find the one I think you would like to see and upload that one.
As I said last time this was the first time Sam and I got dressed in clothing other than shorts and casual pants. The taxi that was supposed to collect us did not show up. (This was not my regular driver. He does not taxi on Sunday.) So we had to walk up to the main road to get one. It rained earlier in the day and this is what we walked through to get to the road:
You can see Sam stepping high in all that mud. LOL I had to carry my high heels, couldn't manage all that mud on them. Most of the side streets in this part of town (Westlands, West Legon) are not paved and just this red dirt. (Reminds me of the red clay of Georgia.) It hasn't rained much since we've been here and this dirt fly all over. You can feel it in your hair, face, and eyes. :-( It comes in the apartment also. I have Nana beat the cushions to get it out of them.
Ants are treacherous. I watch them gather dirt (from where I don't know) and start to build anthills in the kitchen. Nana sweeps and mops every other day and in between they actually can get a small hill going. Remember the pictures of the huge anthills earlier? Well I think if they had one week they would have one tall as I am. LOL
I will be working on the pictures from home. This computer does not have Picasso so I can't edit them.
Also will try to get one of the wedding videos on soon also.
Sam and I are going to Madina market tomorrow and I will be able to buy some more crabs. Yes!!! I will take pictures of them and add. I cooked the last of my shrimps yesterday, so a trip to Elmina fish market will be needed soon. It is a long way so it will have to be planned. We are going to the festival in Cape Coast on Saturday ; but we will be with the group and won't be able to go to Elmina. So I will have pictures of that for you also soon.
Well, must close now to go to my Twi class. I have to find a quiet place to study. I didn't do it earlier as I was supposed to. :-(((
One love!
Enjoying you pics and tracking your journey. Enjoy and have fun.
